The Church of the Epiphany is an Episcopal church located at 1317 G Street in Washington DC. Built in 1844, the church included a pew rented by US Senator Jefferson Davis and later by Secretary of War Edwin Stanton after Davis became President of the Confederacy during the American Civil War. From May to December 1862, the church served as a hospital for wounded Union Army soldiers.
