Charles "Chucky" Signore (?- 1999) was a soldier in Junior Soprano's crew of the DiMeo crime family. In 1999, he was whacked by Tony Soprano after plotting to kill him.
Biography[]
Charles Signore was a member of Junior Soprano's crew and a friend of Mikey Palmice. In 1999, Signore was brought in on a plan to murder Junior's nephew Tony Soprano, who was contending with Junior for the leadership of the DiMeo crime family. Signore witnessed the execution of Donnie Paduana, and he oversaw an unsuccessful assassination attempt against Soprano in his car. Soprano knew that Junior, Signore, and Palmice had masterminded the hit, and he decided to have Signore whacked, as he was the most likely triggerman for the next hit (Palmice was "too high up").
Death[]
Signore was an avid yachtsman and boater; he owned his own runabout boat, which he kept moored at the Liberty Landing Marina in Jersey City, New Jersey. Soprano took him surprise at his marina when he arrived carrying a large fish, and he pulled a gun out of its mouth, shooting Signore several times. Silvio Dante then brought a chain and some cinder blocks to the boat, and Soprano sailed the boat out into the Hudson River, where Signore's body was dumped, chained to the cinder blocks to guarantee that it would sink.
