Charles David "Chuck" Todd (8 April 1972-) was an American television journalist affiliated with NBC. Born in Miami, Florida to a Reform Jewish family, he worked on US Senator Tom Harkin's 1992 presidential campaign, and he became a journalist for National Journal in 1992, remaining affiliated with them until 2007. In 2008, he joined NBC as its chief White House Correspondent, and he became host of Meet the Press in 2014. Todd was active in the Democratic Party, notably declaring, "Alternative facts are not facts. They're falsehoods." on 22 January 2017 when Kellyanne Conway first introduced the term "alternative fact" to defend Donald Trump's false statements.
