Christopher Collins

Christopher Collins (born 1969) was a resident of Newcastle upon Tyne during the 1980s. He was known by the local police as a deranged thug, as he hung out with a gang of unruly youths and took part in harassment and attacks against the elderly Hutchinson family.

Biography[]

Christopher Collins was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, England in 1969 to a working-class family, and he was raised by a single mother and an abusive stepfather. His stepfather locked him out of the house at daytime to keep him away from the home, causing Collins to run with a youth gang of hoodlums and cause trouble with the elderly Hutchinson family, knocking on Felix Hutchinson's door to annoy him, and later pushing his wife Florrie Hutchinson onto the street. Felix was later hospitalized in a fight with Collins' stepfather after Felix demanded that Collins' stepfather punish him, and the Hutchinsons were forced to move into a bungalow to avoid further harassment. In 1987, he was shot and wounded by a police marksman during a siege of his Valley View council estate; by then, he was a father of a five-year-old by the age of 18. By 1995, Collins had fathered a son named Sean, whom he and his wife neglected and abused. When he was brusque with his son, Geordie Peacock attempted to convince Collins to calm down, only for Collins to headbutt him. Sean then sped off in a stolen car and died when his car crashed into a wall at high speed.
