Christopher Columbus Bowen (5 January 1832-23 June 1880) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-SC 2) from 20 July 1868 to 3 March 1871, succeeding William P. Miles and preceding Robert C. De Large.

Biography[]

Christopher Columbus Bowen was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1832, and he moved to Georgia in 1850 and farmed before becoming a lawyer in Charleston in 1862. He served in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War, and he went on to serve in the US House of Representatives from 1868 to 1871 as a Republican. He served in the State House from 1871 to 1872, and he died in New York City in 1880.
