Christopher Asher Wray (17 December 1966-) was Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 2 August 2017, succeeding James Comey.
Biography[]
Christopher Asher Wray was born in New York City in 1966, and he became Assistant US Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia in 1997. From 2003 to 2005, he served under President George W. Bush as Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division, overseeing the fraud investigation against Enron. From 2005 to 2017, he returned to the private sector as a litigation partner for King & Spalding, but, on 7 June 2017, President Donald Trump nominated Wray to succeed fired FBI Director James Comey.
