Chris Jacobs

Christopher L. Jacobs (28 November 1966-) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-NY 27) from 21 July 2020 to 3 January 2023, succeeding Chris Collins and preceding Nick Langworthy.

Biography[]

Christopher L. Jacobs was born in Buffalo, New York in 1966, and he came from a wealthy family which owned the Delaware North Companies and the Boston Bruins hockey team. He worked for the Department of Housing and Urban Development under Jack Kemp, served on the Buffalo Board of Education from 2004 to 2011, served as Secretary of State of New York from 2006 to 2007, served as Erie County Clerk from 2012 to 2017, served in the State Senate from 2017 to 2020, and in the US House of Representatives from 2020, winning a special election to succeed the convicted Republican incumbent Chris Collins with 68.7% of the vote. His seat was eliminated by the post-Census redistricting in 2021.
