The Choza Padre Mine raid occurred in 2019 when American special forces raided the Choza Padre Mine in Bolivia's Montuyoc province and assassinated the Santa Blanca Cartel's chief military instructor, Carl Bookhart.
Major Anthony Perryman and his Ghost Recon team learned of Bookhart's identity from a captured Santa Blanca deserter, and CIA agent Karen Bowman ordered the team to neutralize Bookhart. While some members of Perryman's team objected to killing a fellow American soldier, Perryman concluded that he had stopped being a comrade when he joined the cartel. The Ghosts proceeded to storm the Choza Padre Mine, where Bookhart holed up. While the Americans were initially stealthy, they were detected as they headed deeper into the tunnels. In the ensuing shootout, Perryman gunned Bookhart down, putting an end to the cartel's last military wing buchon (apart from El Muro himself).
