
Chowdhury Mueen-Uddin (born 27 November 1948) was an Al-Badr militia leader during the Bangladesh Liberation War.
Biography[]
Chowdhury Mueen-Uddin was born in East Pakistan (present-day Bangladesh) and became a journalist. During the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, he was in command of a secret unit of Muslim fanatics who massacred Bengali intellectuals and he fled from Bangladesh to the United Kingdom, Nepal, and Pakistan. In 2012 he was charged with war crimes and he was sentenced to death for the torture and murder of 18 intellectuals in absentia.
