Chorev ben Seadia

Chorev ben Seadia (died 1531 BC) was a Hebrew slave in Egypt during the reign of Pharaoh Seti I. He stood up to an Egyptian overseer when he objected to Baka's attempt at turning Lilia into a house slave, and he said that mankind was made in God's image and not meant to be degraded. The overseer threw a spear at his chest, and, rather than let the old man die in the mud, Moses (a prince who was anonymously working with the slaves to get to know them better) took him out of the pit and let him die in his arms. Chorev prophesied that he was looking at "the Deliverer" who would free the Jews from slavery.
