Chomei Ohara

Chomei Ohara (1 November 1900 – 29 May 1945) was a colonel of the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II.

Biography[]

Chomei Ohara was the commander of a regiment of Imperial Japanese Army troops during the Battle of Okinawa in World War II, and he defended Shuri Castle to the death in May 1945. Ohara was gunned down in the courtyard by United States soldiers on 29 May.
