The Chita Republic was a self-declared workers' and peasants' republic established in Chita, Siberia, Russian Empire on 7 December 1905 during the 1905 Russian Revolution. Viktor Kurnatovsky of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party led the republic until Paul von Rennenkampf and the Imperial Russian Army suppressed the uprising on 22 January 1906. The leaders of the republic were executed by the Russian govenrment after the revolt was suppressed.
