The Children of the Mountain is an American new religious movement which was founded by former sociology professor Darius Fontaine in 1978. Fontaine founded the Children of the Mountain as a self-help center, but he lost ownership of the brand to Brother Adrian. Under Adrian's leadership, the Children of the Mountain came to have 1,000 virtual offices in 25 countries, with the Cayman Islands as its headquarters, and it focused on personal development by using their knowledge of human spirituality and development to put people with their true dimension. While it denied being a religion, it was accused of being a cult which promoted selfishness and Social Darwinism.
