Chikao Suzumori

Chikao Suzumori (died 1 January 2001) was a Japanese yakuza who was affiliated with the Sakaki-gumi subsidiary of the Tojo-kai. On 31 December 2000, he stumbled across a collapsed Masato Arakawa in the stairway of a building owned by his family, and he bullied him until Masato drew a gun on him. Suzumori dared Arakawa to shoot him with his "toy gun" until the clock struck midnight, when the ensuing cheers and celebrations masked the sound of Arakawa shooting Suzumori in the temple. Arakawa later informed Arakawa-gumi captain Jo Sawashiro of the murder, causing family boss Masumi Arakawa to ask Ichiban Kasuga to take the fall for the shooting and serve 15 years in prison.
