Chieftess Yesugun of Dwin

Chieftess Yesugun of Dwin (born 1244) was the wife of Chief Okhotur of Dwin, the Marshal of the Ilkhanate.

Biography[]

Yesugun was born in 1244 to a lowborn family of Tengri Mongols. She married Chief Okhotur of Dwin, and she accompanied her husband to the 1263 Great Feast of Qom, hosted by Khagan Hulegu Khan of the Ilkhanate. During the feast, Hulegu made sure that Yesugun, the most beautiful woman, was his dinner partner. He refilled both of their wine glasses, and she became attracted to him, so Hulegu showed her around the castle and especially to his bedchambers, where they had a sexual affair.
