Nachi (1723-) was a Pueblo/Apache war leader in the late 18th century, who was best known as a capable war leader and a respectable tribal elder.
Nachi was born in Quivira, of Apache bloodline. However, he fought his ancestors' tribe as the chief of the Pueblo Nations, as well as the Spanish. He won against the Apache in several battles, and also fought against the Spanish in New Mexico and New Spain. By 1783, he was in control of the Apache Territory, Wichita Territory, Tejas, and Chihuahua, which was a part of Mexico. Nachi conducted several raids against the Kingdom of Mexico and the Spanish frontier, waging guerrilla warfare against the European settlers. In 1788 the Pueblo Nations were conquered by Spain and Nachi was dethroned.
