Chiba Prefecture is a prefecture of Japan located in the Kanto region of Japan. The prefecture's name means "thousand leaves", and it was once home to Shimosa Province, Kazusa Province, and Awa Province, with Kazusa being located in the south. The prefecture had a population of 6,236,517 people in 2016.
