Cheri Bustos (born 17 October 1961) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-IL 17) from 3 January 2013 to 3 January 2023, succeeding Bobby Schilling.
Biography[]
Cheryl Lea Callahan was born in Springfield, Illinois in 1961, and she worked as a reporter and editor for the Quad-City Times, as senior director of corporate communications for Trinity Regional Health Systems, and as vice president of corporate communications for Iowa Health System. She served on the East Moline City Council before being elected to the US House of Representatives in 2012. She was a member of the centrist New Democrats until her retirement in 2022.
