Chen Dan (died 185) was Minister of the Interior of the Han dynasty under Emperor Ling of Han. In 185 AD, he confronted the Emperor about his arrest of Liu Tao, telling him that the Ten Eunuchs were wildly unpopular, and that Feng Xu had even helped the Yellow Turbans. When the Emperor claimed that Feng Xu was never proven guilty and that the Ten Eunuchs were loyal, Chen Dan beat his forehead on the steps of the throne, so an angry Emperor Ling had Chen Dan imprisoned alongside Liu Tao. That night, both Chen Dan and Liu Tao were murdered in prison.
