The Chemical Institute Via-B Gas raid occurred in 2019 when American special forces raided a chemical institute in Bolivia's Libertad department and discovered the identity of Santa Blanca Cartel buchon Marcus Jensen from his assistant Medero Diez.
Major Anthony Perryman and his Ghost Recon team first raided the residence of the provincial buchon in Libertad City, where they found a computer mentioning that the cartel ran its provincial operations from the Chemical Institute Via-B Gas. The Americans, having recently raided the chemical institute at the culmination of Operation Archangel, returned to the institute to find its director, the buchon. The American team breached and cleared the institute and found Medero Diez, whom Perryman interrogated. Diez revealed that he was merely the assistant to the institute's director, Marcus Jensen, and that he was due to meet with Jensen at the city's witch market. Perryman forced Diez to expedite the meeting, and he and his team set out to apprehend the scientist.
