Biography[]

Orsi's death
Checco Orsini was born in Forli, Romagna, Papal States in 1458, the younger brother of Ludovico Orsi. The two brothers came from a family of financiers, and they grew up comfortably in the countryside. They started their own moneylending business and killed anyone who didn't pay them back, leading to the success of their business. On 14 April 1488, the brothers were hired by Caterina Sforza to murder her husband, Girolamo Riario, stabbing him dead in his dining room and leaving his naked body in a public square. After Rodrigo Borgia's escape from Venice, he hired the Orsi brothers to claim Sforza's head, and they besieged Forli. After Ludovico's death, Checco Orsi attempted to flee to the countryside, but Ezio Auditore da Firenze succeeded in catching up to him and stabbing him with his hidden blades. Orsi was mortally wounded, and he stabbed Auditore in the chest with his knife before Auditore ran him through the neck with his hidden blade. Auditore was severely wounded, but he recovered a while later.
