Chauncey Ives Filley

Chauncey Ives Filley (17 October 1829-24 September 1923) was the Republican Mayor of St. Louis from 14 April 1863 to 19 March 1864, succeeding Daniel G. Taylor and preceding James S. Thomas.

Biography[]

Chauncey Ives Filley was born in Lansingburgh, New York in 1829, and he became a queensware distributor in St. Louis before serving as Mayor from 1863 to 1864 (resigning due to illness) and as postmaster from 1873 to 1878. He died in 1923.
