
Charun Rattanakun Seriroengrit (27 October 1895-19 July 1983) was a Lieutenant-General of the Royal Thai Army during World War II.
Biography[]
Charun Rattanakun Seriroengrit was born on 27 October 1895 in Bangkok, Thailand. He joined the Royal Thai Army in 1904, and in 1932 he joined the Khana Ratsadon military officers in the coup d'etat that installed a constitutional monarchy in place of the previous absolute monarchy. Seriroengrit was made a Colonel in 1938 and became a Lieutenant-General in February 1942 after the Franco-Thai War, leading the Phayap Army during the invasion of Burma during World War II. His forces occupied Shan State until the war's end in 1945, and he died in 1983.
