Charlotte of Aragon

Charlotte of Aragon (1480-1506) was the Princess of Taranto and the wife of Count Guy XVI de Laval.

Biography[]

Charlotte of Aragon was born in 1480, the daughter of Frederick of Naples and Anne of Savoy. She was raised in France and brought up at the French court, and she refused Cesare Borgia as a suitor before marrying Guy XVI de Laval; she saw Guy as a genuinely nice person, unlike the maligned Cesare. Only one of her children survived past infancy, and she died in 1506.
