Charlie Young

Charlie Young (born 1980) was the Deputy Special Assistant to Chief of Staff and Personal Aide to the President during the Bartlet administration.

Biography[]

Charlie Young was born in Washington DC in 1980, the son of a single mother who worked as a policewoman. He was a brilliant high school student, but, after his mother was killed in the line of duty in 1999, he decided to take care of his sister Deanna until she graduated from high school, upon which he could attend college. Five months after his mother's death, he was hired as Personal Aide to the President by Josh Lyman, although he had initially intended to interview for the job of messenger. Young was nearly assassianted by a white supremacist group for dating President Josiah Bartlet's daughter Zoey, and Lyman was wounded while protecting Young. In 2000, Young went on to attend Georgetown University, and he left his job as Personal Aide upon graduation in 2005 due to a promise he made to President Bartlet, but he found it hard to leave the White House. He was hired as Special Aide to the White House Chief of Staff that same year, serving until 2007.
