Charlie "Clean Face" Clark was the personal lawyer of Frank Rosenthal. Clark was hired to defend Rosenthal when his casino was sued by his opponents, including Clark County Commissioner Pat Webb, who sought to remove the casino's license. Anthony Spilotro once threatened Clark after claiming that Clark did not know the nature of his profession; Spilotro said that he was a criminal, and he threatened to kill Clark. Clark would later be called by Rosenthal when his wife Geri McGee took out his safe deposit box from a Los Angeles bank, but Clark was unable to help him, as both of them were named its owners.
