Charlie Baum (13 December 1972-) was a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives (R-37) from 6 November 2018, succeeding Dawn White.
Biography[]
Charlie Baum was born in 1972, and he becaem an economics professor at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro in 1989 before entering politics as a Republican. Elected to the State House in 2017, Baum broke with his fellow Republicans to vote against the expulsion of Democratic representative Gloria Johnson, Justin J. Pearson, and Justin Jones from the State House on 6 April 2023, stating that his constituents did not support the three members' expulsions over their participation in a gun control protest in the state capitol in the wake of a mass shooting in Nashville.
