
Charles Warren Lippitt (8 October 1846-4 April 1924) was the Republican Governor of Rhode Island from 29 May 1895 to 25 May 1897, succeeding Daniel Russell Brown and preceding Elisha Dyer Jr..
Biography[]
Charles Warren Lippitt was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1846, the son of Henry Lippitt and the brother of Henry F. Lippitt, and he worked for his father's manufacturing firm before following him into politics. He served as Governor from 1895 to 1897, and he died in 1924.
