
Charles T. Connelly (25 November 1845 – 5 October 1892) was the town marshal of Coffeyville, Kansas during the Wild West. He was killed by the Dalton Gang during the Coffeyville bank robbery.
Biography[]
Charles T. Connelly was born in Annapolis, Parke County, Indiana on 25 November 1845, and he worked as a frontier peace officer before becoming town marshal of Coffeyville, Kansas. He also worked as a schoolteacher, and Emmett Dalton was one of his students. On 5 October 1892, the Dalton Gang rode into Coffeyville with the intent of robbing its two banks. While searching for the bank robbers in the alleyway where they hid, Connelly was shot in the head and killed by Grat Dalton.
