Charles Schuler was a German Protestant duke during the 16th century. In 1559, he came to the court of King Francis II of France to petition the King for the release of imprisoned Huguenots; he made a deal with Mary, Queen of Scots by which the prisoners would be released in exchange for Schuler providing the French court with German grain during a plague.
