
Charles Kiva Krieger (5 April 1914-17 June 1982) was Mayor of Jersey City from 5 August to 8 November 1971, succeeding Thomas J. Whelan and preceding Paul T. Jordan.
Biography[]
Charles Kiva Krieger was born in Vienna, Austria in 1914, and he emigrated to the United States to escape from Nazi persecution. In 1971, he served as Mayor of Jersey City for three months as a Democrat before Paul T. Jordan was elected to succeed Thomas J. Whelan, and he became a Republican in 1981 and won their nomination for the US House of Representatives. However, he died before the election.
