Charles J. Albright

Charles Jefferson Albright (9 May 1816-21 October 1883) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-OH 17) from 4 March 1855 to 3 March 1857, succeeding Wilson Shannon and preceding William Lawrence. Born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, he was raised in Allegheny County before settling in Guernsey County, Ohio. He edited a newspaper and served as secretary of Guernsey County's board of school examiners before serving in Congress, as a delegate to the 1856 and 1860 Republican national conventions, as a revenue collector, and again as a school examine in Cambridge.
