Charles Hooks (20 February 1768-18 October 1843) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-NC 5) from 1816 to 1817 (succeeding William R. King and preceding James Owen) and from 1819 to 1825 (succeeding Owen and preceding Gabriel Holmes).

Biography[]

Charles Hooks was born in Bertie County, North Carolina in 1768, and his family settled in Kenansville, Duplin County when he was two years old. He served in the House of Commons from 1801 to 1805, in the State Senate from 1810 to 1811, and in the US House of Representatives from 1816 to 1817 and from 1819 to 1825. He moved to Montgomery, Alabama in 1826, and he died there in 1843.
