Charles Elroy Townsend (15 August 1856 – 3 August 1924) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-MI 2) from 4 March 1903 to 3 March 1911 (succeeding Henry C. Smith and preceding William Wedemeyer) and of the US Senate from 4 March 1911 to 3 March 1923 (succeeding Julius C. Burrows and preceding Woodbridge Nathan Ferris).

Charles Elroy Townsend was born in Concord, Michigan in 1856, and he worked as a teacher and lawyer before serving in the US House of Representatives from 1903 to 1911 and in the US Senate from 1911 to 1923. He died in 1924.
