Charles C.B. Walker

Charles Christopher Brainerd Walker (27 June 1824-26 January 1888) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-NY 29) from 4 March 1875 to 3 March 1877, succeeding Freeman Clarke and preceding John N. Hungerford.

Biography[]

Charles Christopher Brainerd Walker was born in Drewsville, New Hampshire in 1824, and he moved to Corning, New York in 1848. He served as Corning's postmaster from 1856 to 1860, as a Union Army quartermaster during the American Civil War, as a delegate to the 1860 and 1872 Democratic National Conventions, and in the US House of Representatives from 1875 to 1877. He died in 1888.
