
Charles Brewster Benedict (7 February 1828-3 October 1901) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-NY 31) from 4 March 1877 to 3 March 1879, succeeding George Gilbert Hoskins and preceding Richard Crowley.
Biography[]
Charles Brewster Benedict was born in Attica, New York in 1828, and he became a lawyer before serving as a justice of the peace from 1854 to 1860, as a member of the Wyoming County board of supervisors from 1869 to 1871 and from 1873 to 1875, and in the US House of Representatives from 1877 to 1879. He died in 1901.
