Charles Aubrey Eaton

Charles Aubrey Eaton (29 March 1868-23 January 1953) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-NJ 4) from 4 March 1925 to 3 March 1933 (succeeding Charles Browne and preceding D. Lane Powers) and from NJ-5 from 4 March 1933 to 3 January 1953 (succeeding Percy Hamilton Stewart and preceding Peter Frelinghuysen Jr.).

Biography[]

Charles Aubrey Eaton was born in Pugwash, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1868, and he became a Baptist minister in 1893. He became a minister in Natick, Massachusetts that same year, and he moved to North Plainfield, New Jersey in 1909 and started a dairy farm while preaching in New York City. He lived in Watchung after its separation from North Plainfield, and he went on to serve in the US House of Representatives from 1925 to 1953 and participated in the creation of the United Nations. He died twenty days after leaving office.
