Charles, Prince Napoleon (19 October 1950-) was a French politician and a Bonapartist claimant to the throne of France. He was disinherited from the throne due to his republican views, as he was a MoDem politician.
Biography[]
Charles was born in Boulogne-Billancourt, France on 19 October 1850, the son of Louis, Prince Napoleon and Alix, Princess Napoleon. He worked as a banker, financial planner, real estate developer, and as a visiting professor at the American Institute on Foreign Policy, and he inherited the Bonapartist claim on the French throne. However, Charles held republican views, which he viewed as compatible with his ancestor Napoleon Bonaparte's political views at the time of the French Revolutionary Wars, during which he defended the French First Republic from its foes. In 2000, he ran for Mayor of Ajaccio on Corsica as a Democratic Movement of France, and he consequently served as a member of the city council, holding the post of Deputy Mayor in 2004. In 2008, he was defeated in his attempt to become Mayor of Nemours.
