The chamber in 1841
The Chamber of Deputies was the lower house of the French parliament from 1814 to 1848 under the Bourbon Restoration and July Monarchy and from 1875 to 1940 under the French Third Republic. During its first incarnation, the Chamber of Deputies consisted of members elected through census suffrage, while members were elected through universal suffrage during its second incarnation.
