
Central Park is an urban park in Manhattan, New York City, the most visited urban park in the United States and one of the most filmed locations in the world. The park was built in 1857 on 778 acres of land, and it was expanded to 843 acres in 1873. In 1962, the park became a national historic landmark, and a 6.5-acre zoo was built in 1934; the naturalistic environments were built in 1988.
