Caucasus

The Caucasus is a region on the border of Europe and Asia situated between the Black Sea to the west and the Caspian Sea to the east. The Caucasus is a mountainous region, with the Caucasus Mountains dividing the Russian Federation to the north from Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Iran to the south, and the region is home to several indigenous groups of people such as Chechens, Kists, Georgians, Azeris, Armenians, Lezgins, Kabardians, Balkars, Circassians, and other (mostly Muslim) ethnic groups.
