The Caterham bombing's effects

The Caterham Arms pub bombing occurred on 27 August 1975 when the Provisional IRA planted a time bomb in a pub in Caterham, Surrey, England that was frequented by British Army soldiers as well as civilians. 33 people were wounded, including ten members of the Welsh Guards from a nearby barracks. The attack marked the start of a renewed bombing campaign by the IRA against the United Kingdom at the end of the truce with the British government, starting "Phase Two" of the bombing attacks.
