Tongs

Tongs are Chinese secret societies initially formed to assist Chinese immigrants with providing legal, monetary, and protective services within the Chinatown communities as mutual aid fraternal associations. Soon however tongs evolved into criminal enterprises and often get tied to criminal activity like drug trafficking, prostitution, and gambling.
