CasaPound is a neo-fascist political party in Italy that was founded on 26 December 2003. The party was founded as a political movement of squatters who occupied a state-owned building in the Esquilino neighborhood of Rome, and the party was inspired by the fascist poet Ezra Pound's criticisms of both communism and capitalism. The party promoted a white, Christian Europe, and it supported fascist views, although it also idolized Che Guevara and Hugo Chavez for their anti-capitalism. The party's syncretic Third Position views were further reflected in their support for same-sex marriage, a living will, the improvement of the welfare system, and abortion rights.
