Carter Lee (died 1878) was an American farmer who lived in Savannah, Georgia during the 1870s. The son of Violet Lee and one of three brothers, he admired his cousin Richard Lee as a young man, as Richard taught him to swim and had faith that he could leave behind his family. However, their relationship changed when Richard killed two of his brothers for murdering his Black lover. In 1878, Richard was brought back to Georgia after being kidnapped by Happy Jack in San Francisco, and, while Richard attempted to dissuade Carter from following his family, he was ultimately forced to shoot Carter as he and Wang Chao escaped from captivity.
