Biography[]
Carmine Lupertazzi Jr. was born in New York City, New York in 1954, the son of Lupertazzi crime family boss Carmine Lupertazzi Sr.. He followed in his father's footsteps and became a mobster, building a luxurious life for himself after investing in several legitimate businesses and receiving proceeds from illicit activities. Lupertazzi moved with his family to Miami, Florida to run the family's interests there, and he later headed back to New York to mediate a dispute between his father and DiMeo crime family boss Tony Soprano. When his father died of a massive stroke in 2004, Lupertazzi claimed the throne, but his father's longtime second-in-command Johnny Sacrimoni sought the title for himself. Despite lacking the intelligence that his father had possessed, Lupertazzi had the backing of key family leaders Angelo Garepe and Rusty Millio. After several murders (including that of Garepe), Lupertazzi decided to give up his claim, and Sacrimoni became the boss of the family. Lupertazzi would later be convinced by his wife to leave the criminal life and retire with his family; he announced his decision to Soprano, having realized that others did not regard him as a clever or respected man. However, he continued to mediate disputes, becoming a much-needed middleman between hte DiMeo and Lupertazzi families.
