Carmella Rotunda

Carmella Rotunda was the co-owner of the Embassy Club in Brooklyn, New York City.

Biography[]

Carmella Rotunda worked as a lowly waitress and dancer at a Brooklyn nightclub before working her way up to become co-owner of the Embassy Club with Salvatore Tessio. She provided a convincing front for Tessio's shady business dealings, so Tessio decided not to appoint a racket boss in the business, instead allowing for Rotunda to serve her customers in peace. In 1955, she was absent from work on the day that Tessio and his Barzini crime family conspirators were murdered at the club by Aldo Trapani, and she returned to running the business, this time as its sole proprietor.
