Carlos Slim

Carlos Slim (born 28 January 1940) was a Mexican billionaire, investor, and philanthropist. Born in Mexico City to Lebanese Catholic immigrants, he bought his first stock at age 12, became a bank shareholder at age 15, and became a stock trader at the age of 21. He founded the Grupo Carso conglomerate, acquiring extensive holdings in large companies and becoming the richest person in Latin America. From 2010 to 2013, he was the richest person in the world, and, by 2020, he had a net worth of $68.9 billion. In 2018, he and his family endorsed PRI presidential candidate Jose Antonio Meade through their spokesman Arturo Elias Ayub.
