
Carlos Alberto Lacoste (2 February 1929-24 August 2004) was President of Argentina from 11 to 21 December 1981, succeeding Roberto Eduardo Viola and preceding Leopoldo Galtieri.
Biography[]
Carlos Alberto Lacoste was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on 2 February 1929, and he served in the Navy before presiding over the 1978 FIFA World Cup. In 1981, he ousted military dictator Roberto Eduardo Viola in a coup and served as interim President for ten days before Leopoldo Galtieri became President. He continued to be involved with FIFA, and he died in 2004.
