Carlo Renzetti (1903 - 1 May 1935) was an Italian-American mobster and driver for Don Ennio Salieri of the Salieri crime family in Chicago, Illinois. He was given this position due to his late father having been close with Salieri during both the days of the Peppone crime family and the early years of the Salieris. Despite this, Renzetti hated his job due to the tedium, developing an addiction to heroin to alleviate the boredom of waiting on the Don. He longed for an actual job with the rest of the family, instead of driving Salieri around town.
Conti was contacted by Don Marcu Morello of the Chicago Morello crime family, coercing Renzetti to spy for him after threatening his mother. However, he only turned due to his resentment of Salieri, informing him of various deals and having Morello destroy them. On 22 September 1933, Conti was given a job to accompany Tommy Angelo, Paulie Lombardo and Sam Trapani to a bootlegging deal with Kentucky bootlegger William Gates at a parking garage. The deal was interrupted by Morello goons who were tipped off by Renzetti, though the Salieris managed to escape the parking garage with the whiskey.
On 1 May 1935, Conti took a sick day, having Angelo replace him on a drive to Pepe's Restaurant. A Morello hit squad shot up the restaurant and killed all the staff and customers, though Salieri and Angelo managed to escape and kill the hit squad, with Salieri determining that Renzetti was the mole. Angelo and Salieri drove to Carlo's apartment while he was with a prostitute, chasing him through the streets until Angelo shot him twice in the back. Salieri then crushed Renzetti's head with repeated stomps, later described as being crushed "like a watermelon." As a result, Morello lost his mole and was unable to divine Salieri's further moves.
